Migration Specialist

Position Summary

This position reports to the Deputy Direct of Support and is responsible for the coordination of client migrations, trainings, demos and management of the work and teams involved in migrating clients from NGP 7 to NGP 8. The process flows from a migration request to demonstrating the product, coordinating external and internal staff schedules, coordinating data mapping questions, providing client training and supporting clients post-migration. This role provides essential support not only to migrated clients, but also to product directors and technical product managers by way of collating client feedback and usage trends.  This position also requires a knowledge of traditional political campaign digital, fundraising and compliance workflows, toolsets and needs.  A migration product specialist has stellar communication skills and creative in recommending alternative solutions that help migrated clients successfully accomplish their daily tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the migration demos and trainings for moving NGP 7 clients to NGP 8; including a higher level of support and hand-holding through the transition
  • Coordinate migration efforts between Sales, Client Services, Data Services, Digital Services, Engineering, Product and Executives
  • Assist with migration of client data and completing timely reconciliation to ensure migration data integrity
  • Assisting with or conducting Sales demos for potential migrations and new clients
  • Working with Data Services staff on client backend edits
  • Continual check ins with clients on the new platform; handling key aspects of support and training for clients; whether it be directly with the client or assisting Client Services
  • Training internal staff on new NGP platform and updating knowledge base per release
  • Collecting and collating feedback from clients, relaying parity gaps to the product team, and being available to communicate the status of a feedback item back to the client
  • Advocating for feature updates and bug fixes for clients and providing requirements for work
  • Use judgment and discretion to recommend changes on standard migration processes and policies that result in increased efficiency
  • Coordinating the help documentation process and producing help videos for NGP 8
  • Help Data Services manage conversions from other databases to new NGP for new clients

Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data for migration reconciliation 
  • Able to prioritize with minimal guidance; hit migration deadlines; reliable and hard working
  • Detail oriented with proven ability to deal with ambiguity and work effectively in situations involving uncertainty or lack of information
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Adapt and adjust to change in a positive manner that positively influences others and provides positive forward progress for peers and the company
  • Experience with SQL or desire to learn SQL is a must
  • Must be able to work weekends and off hours
