Product Designer

Location: Somerville, MA

Position Summary

    We're looking for passionate Product Designers to help us define how people interact with our products. You should be an excellent communicator, self-starter, and collaborative enthusiast.

    This is a junior- to mid-level product designer position that is responsible for creating compelling interfaces that solve complex design problems. You will collaborate with the designers, product management, engineers, and cross-functional members to provide beautiful and simple experiences for our users.

    A successful Product Designer thrives in a work environment that requires strong problem solving skills and independent self-direction, coupled with building trust and strong team relationships. This position is also suited for individuals who excel at providing both highly analytical, as well as highly creative ideas to solve complex, task-based workflow problems. A thorough understanding of modern research and design methodologies is a must. This position reports directly to the Director of Design.

    What you'll do

    • Attend kickoff meetings to understand the problems we're excited about solving
    • Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to explore and iterate through ideas
    • Plan and conduct user research, including surveys, interviews and usability tests to measure user reaction and user clarity
    • Work iteratively with agile teams to deliver a user experience that’s within scope and budget
    • Make recommendations that balance business needs, user needs and technological capabilities
    • Embody the role of a user advocate, creating innovative design solutions that support customer needs and builds user confidence and adoption across our products
    • Partner with product management and engineering to design impactful solutions

    Skills & Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Computer Science, Human Computer Interaction, related field or equivalent work experience or Certification in User Experience or Product Design
    • Experience with generating user flows, wireframes, prototypes and design documentation
    • Experience prioritizing and managing work to adhere to critical project timelines in a fast- paced environment
    • Experience working in an agile, creative, quick-paced and collaborative environment
    • Proficiency in Sketch and InVision
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Must be able to travel at least 2 to 3 times a year; mostly in North America
